Privacy Policy
Effective date: September 30, 2026
This Privacy Policy describes how Subscription Tracker (“the App”), operated by Voola Software Solutions (“we”, “us”), collects, uses, and protects your information.
1. Information We Collect
Account information. When you create an account, we collect your email address, first and last name, and (optionally) your phone number. Your phone number is used only to infer a default currency for the Insights screen (from its country calling code) and to help you switch between linked profiles — it is never shared or used for marketing.
Subscription data you enter. Service name, cost, currency, billing cycle, category, and renewal date for each subscription you choose to track.
Gmail data (only if you connect Gmail). If you choose to connect your
Gmail account, we request read-only access (the gmail.readonly scope) and
your email address (userinfo.email). We use this solely to
scan messages from the last 180 days that Gmail itself has already classified into its
own “Purchases” category (the Gmail search operator category:purchases)
— we never search or read anything outside that category, and never search your
inbox more broadly by keyword. Within that category, we extract only: the sender, the
subject line, and a short relevant snippet of the body (used to guess the price, billing
cycle, and renewal date); a small set of everyday-purchase senders (ride-hailing, food
delivery, general e-commerce, payment-gateway donations) are excluded outright since they
are essentially never subscriptions. Suggestions are placed in a private review queue in
your account — nothing is added to your tracked subscriptions, and no
guessed price or date is trusted, until you explicitly review and approve it.
Payment information. If you upgrade to a paid plan, payment is processed entirely by Stripe. We never receive or store your card number — only a reference to the transaction.
Usage analytics. We use PostHog to collect basic, aggregated usage analytics (e.g. which screens are opened) to help us improve the App.
2. How We Use Gmail Data Specifically
In line with Google's API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements:
- Gmail data is used only to detect and suggest subscriptions, as described above.
- We do not sell Gmail data.
- We do not use Gmail data for advertising of any kind.
- We do not use Gmail data to develop, improve, or train generalized/non-personalized AI or machine-learning models.
- We do not share Gmail data with third parties, except with service providers (e.g. our database host, Supabase) strictly as needed to operate the App, or where required by law.
- Gmail access is read-only — the App cannot send email, delete email, or modify your mailbox in any way.
3. How We Store and Protect Your Data
All app data is stored with Supabase (a hosted PostgreSQL database and authentication provider) with industry-standard access controls (row-level security scoped to your own account) and encryption in transit.
4. Your Choices and Controls
- Disconnect Gmail at any time from Settings. This immediately deletes our stored access token and stops any further scanning; it does not retroactively delete subscriptions you've already approved (you can remove those individually).
- Dismiss or approve any suggested subscription individually.
- Revoke access from Google directly at any time via Google Account → Security → Third-party apps, independent of the App.
- Request deletion of your account and data by contacting us at the address below.
5. Children's Privacy
The App is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.
6. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the effective date above.
